Running route : Hauts-de-Caux - Sonchaux loop

Montreux

Ride of about 3 h

Between lake and mountains, this route is composed of breathtaking landscapes. On your way you will come across the Auberge de Sonchaux, where you can take a short break in an enchanting setting. Certainly one of the most impressive viewpoints in the whole region!

Route: from the Haut de Caux car park (1155 m.), take the tarmac road to Les Raveyres. After a little over a kilometre, the road is replaced by a wide mountain path. After 2-3 km, you will come to a fork in the road (approx. 1430 m.) where you can see a chalet on your right and a fountain (paraglider departure point). You will then descend to Sonchaux with one of the most beautiful views of the lake. From the restaurant in Sonchaux you take the tarmac road to Caux. After 4 km, you will reach the road that goes up to Hauts-de-Caux and you will follow it for 900 meters to reach your starting point. You can end your magnificent walk at Le Coucou, a famous restaurant in the region, where you can watch the sunset while drinking a good Chasselas from the region.

Anecdote: As you approach the end of your loop, you will pass by the famous chalet "Le Picotin", former home of Claude Nobs, creator of the Montreux Jazz Festival. A mythical place that has welcomed the world's greatest music stars and the most extravagant parties.
