Chexbres, an emblematic village in the Lavaux UNESCO World Heritage Site, is immediately appealing. Nicknamed "The Balcony of Lake Geneva" because of the many views it offers of the lake and the neighbouring mountains, this winegrowing village has a soul that is conducive to inspiration. The works of the painter Ferdinand Hodler are a good example of this.
