From legal bases to practical advice, here's some useful information to help you plan your filming project on the Montreux Riviera.

Filming in the public space

Filming in the Montreux Riviera region involving fewer than 10 people does not require prior authorization. However, an e-mail or telephone call to Sécurité Riviera is always greatly appreciated.

In all cases, the images captured must under no circumstances hinder or prevent the movement of the population, disrupt road traffic or block parking spaces. Should this be the case, the production must submit a request to the police and the commune concerned at least 1 month before filming.

Filming in private space (inside & outside)

Filming in private areas (museums, restaurants, hotels, etc.) requires authorization from the site owner or manager. This must be received at least 10 working days before filming begins.

Filming with a drone

In the absence of specific municipal regulations, the use of drones in all public areas of Montreux Riviera is governed by Swiss and Vaud laws:
